PRINCE2 7 principle - Tailor to suit project

PRINCE2 demands that method is tailored to project size, complexity, risk level, team expierence and planning horizont. Why we must do it ? In order to use only appropriate, not too much, not too little management efforts as management efforts are expensive but necessary in projects.

This principle states - in each project Project manager propose tailoring and Project owner/executive approves project tailoring based on project size, complexity, risk level, team expierence, program/portfolio requirements and planning horizont.

PRINCE2 require to apply it's all principles. There are some limited number of mandatory requirements coming from knowledge areas while some other practices should be applied where necessary.
